Trevor registered with the Supported Employment program after being laid off. He struggled with his job search independently and accessed the program to help him navigate the labour market. It did not take long for his positivity and eagerness to shine through. Trevor knew he wanted to work again in a kitchen and we were able to match him with Alison, General Manager of Kelsey’s Restaurant.
Trevor first started working at Kelsey’s in October 2019 washing dishes and has been a great addition to the team since then! Together their partnership has truly highlighted how valuable employees with disabilities can be in the workplace. Alison provided a patient training environment that helped Trevor learn and thrive. Trevor in return demonstrated with each shift his positive outlook, reliability, and willingness to please: the dish pit is left shining every time he finishes his shift.
Trevor loves his position and loves being a new member of the Kelsey’s family. He was voted by fellow staff as being “Nicest In The Kitchen” and “The Best Rookie”. Trevor continues to grow and thrive as part of the Kelsey’s team and we wish both Trevor and Kelsey’s much continued success.
